Why does the camera on my computer produce mirror images of the original?

Question by pbpullman: Why does the camera on my computer produce mirror images of the original?
If I take a picture with a normal camera, the image uploads correctly to my computer. When I use my computer’s camera, it produces a mirror image. Is there a driver setting or something I need to change to avoid this?

  1. You are just disoriented because you are used to looking at a mirror in the morning and your camcorder is showing you exactly what the camera shows. You move to the left and the video on your screen shows you moving to the left to, but opposite to the way a mirror reflects your image.

All is well. Too bad there is no artificial horizon in the corner of your video display.

Put a button or something on the left side of your shirt and then notice how it moves relative to your actual movement. When you physically move left, you will notice that your image will move left as well.
