Any books that talk about beating the fear of expanding a business and working with people?
Question by yag1891: Any books that talk about beating the fear of expanding a business and working with people?
My father has a computer business, and it’s pretty small; he repairs computers and does a bunch of stuff, but all of this he is carrying it all out on his own. Why? because all his life he’s been a very anti-social person, or let’s just say he just wants things done in his own way, and if they’re not done in his own way, they’re wrong.
So, this is one of the reasons why he’s not expanding his business, and allowing other people to work with him and get other workers to work for him, because he says that if he gets other workers they’re not going to do things as he wants them to and he’ll fail. Which is ridiculous. In my opinion you’ve just gotta take the risk, that’s part of expanding your business.
Anyhow, does anyone know a book that talks about breaking social boundaries and beating the fear of expanding one’s small business into something more locally larger? some book that hits these points I’ve been speaking about.
Thanks!

Your father likes things done his own way. It probably means that he takes pride in his work and cares about his customers. That is a good thing. There are way too many businesses that are more concerned more growth and profits than the value they provide to their customers. Running a successful small business is not about you, the owner…it is about your customers. Meeting their needs, solving their problems and providing great value in exchange for your customer’s hard-earned money.
The decision to expand a business by adding employees changes the nature of the business. The owner’s focus changes from doing what he loves to do…to managing the work of employees to ensure that his customers continue to get the quality of product and service that both he and his customers have come to expect. Sadly, the reality is that often as a business expands, it loses the very things that brought success before expansion.
Don’t assume that your father’s reluctance to hire employees…or even bring family members into his business…has anything to do with being “anti-social” or set in his ways.
The Internet has revolutionized small business opportunities. If your father (his choice, not yours) wants to increase his income, there are ways he can make use of his knowledge and experience.
One final thought. Your relationship with your father is worth more than any amount of money can buy and you may be venturing on thin ice. Don’t let any concerns or disappointments you have about his business become a wedge between the love, trust and respect you have for each other.
Wish you well!

here is the key to your business http://homebusinessbooster.com
Any business is finally a person. And the person is a business. Expanding your business means to expand the person behind the business, to decide for Themselves to grow in knowledge, to learn new ways/strategies and finally to deal with their own emotions.
I will guess that your father is a so called “Technician”and is nothing wrong with that.
He will have to change all his habits. Ever think of that?
As for the books you are asking…(If is not him asking this question I think that doesn’t matter if you will suggest any)
One good book about the fear is ” Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway” the title say it all but if you want more details you can get it for as low as $0.90.
PS> this book I would recommend to everyone. Reading the title is all that is needed.
