Q&A: How do I transfer data from cell phone to pc via infrared?
Question by faith_lucky_slayer48: How do I transfer data from cell phone to pc via infrared?
I have been given a samsung sgh x-650 from a person who had it for a long time but barely used it, and I want to transfer all the pictures to my pc.
How exactly does the infrared thing works and how can I transfer data when I don’t have either the software that comes with the cell (I think it came with the cell, that person isn’t sure where it is though), or an infrared port in my computer?

If you no longer have the CD that came with your phone then you can always download Samsung PC Suite free from the website and use that software. But seeing as your PC doesn’t have an infrared port, and your phone doesn’t have bluetooth, take a USB cable or memory card, then your only option is to send the pictures to your email address.
There are infrared adapters that you can get which you plug into the USB port of your PC http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-To-IrDA-Wireless-Adapter-Intelligent-Infrared-NEW_W0QQitemZ220259891273QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220259891273&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318 but I’ve never tried them before. You could give it a try.
