Do any Adobe products bring viruses or make your computer slow? Especially Photoshop?
Question by I Love House: Do any Adobe products bring viruses or make your computer slow? Especially Photoshop?
My computer broke awile ago. I downloaded Photoshop about 10 days before that so my mom thinks something I downloaded broke the computer. I’ve also been downloading brushes and fonts for it too but I dont think it caused the problem. I mean my computer was slow while I was downloading photoshop but it was the regular speed after it finished and the computer was fine after that.
Im trying to convince my mom to let me download Photoshop. I told her it wouldnt bring any viruses because we have Adobe FlashPlayer and Shockwave and Reader and those never brought viruses or slowed the computer down. Please help.
No I dont Issy. I said my Mom did. I would’nt have downloaded it if it did. And I downloaded the trial version from the official Adobe site.

I’ve never had any Adobe products harm my computer in any way. The only thing I can think of is that if you got PhotoShop from a questionable source, it may install some bad stuff along with PhotoShop.
If you download the trial version of PhotoShop from the official website you won’t have to worry about this, but then you’ll have to pay for the software after like 30 days.
One thing to keep in mind – when you are installing Macromedia / Flash, stuff like that, make sure you don’t install the “extras” crap that they usually come with. Those extras may contain mailware or spyware that could slow your computer down, but they’re not as bad as viruses.

As far as I know, Adobe doesn’t give you viruses.
However, photoshop may make your computer run slow because it takes memory from your hard drive.
If you’d like to download Photoshop, find out how much memory is left on your hard drive, you want at least 10 gigs.
Downloading any sort of software from an unofficial source can contain a virus/trojan/worm. Just be sure to scan the file for viruses beforehand. Good luck.
do you really think everybody would down load photoshop and other adobe software if it had a virus, plus they do not take up much memory, less than 700 MB for sure
