If your computer is “broken”, you can possibly remove your internal hard drive and install it on another computer.

  1. As long as your hard drive did not crash, you can open up the computer and remove the hard drive and just insert it into your new computer.

  2. Get a computer nerd friend to pull the hard drive and put it in a working computer, then transfer everything on it to your external hard drive.

  3. be sure to set the old hard drive as slave first.

  4. If you have a second computer, you can remove the hard drive from the old one and install it as as a secondary hard disk on the second computer.
