How to transfer memory if my USB ports are broken?
Question by iMarty: How to transfer memory if my USB ports are broken?
My USB ports are broken on my computer and I was promised a new computer if I were to find a way to transfer pictures, music, etc.. to another computer until the new computer was purchased. Since my USB flash drive won’t obviously work how will I be able to port all this memory to another computer?

Take it to a PC shop they will transfer the data and fix USB ports
Email the stuff to yourself.
you can compress your music or pic folders and then email them to yourself…
Sorry your out of luck
plug in another hard drive and transfer the media files to it.
Use your CD/DVD drive and copy to disk.
or depending what youre transfering, just do it through your email.
: )
you broke all your usb ports? damn…anyway you can connect to the computer with a crossover cable then copy all your data to the other computer. You can find a crossover cable at most computer stores, also if the computers are networked (as in through a router or some such) you can transfer all your files this way by turning on file sharing. It takes some time to set up. It would be easier to burn only the stuff you need to cd or dvd
you could put your old hard drive in your new computer (assuming you dont mean a new laptop) just move the jumper on the bottom of the drive to make it a slave drive, and make the new hard drive a master drive (it should already be) there should be a jumper setup chart on the hard drive
Take the hard drive from the other computer, put it into this one (as slave – move the jumper or switch), copy the files, put the drive back. (Make sure the power is off when you remove or install a drive.)
If the computers are on the same router, share the drive on this computer, go to the other one and copy the files you want to save.
Get a USB port card.
Use CDs or DVDs.
Burning a CD/DVD or if your computer has blue tooth or firewire you could transfer that way.
If those are still not options you can make work, may be pulling the drive from PC and installing it on another PC so can you get access to the files.
Good luck.
