Q&A: video editor?

Question by Omz: video editor?
basically, ive been searching for ages for a free video editor that i can download, preferably with a tutorial guide if it dont have one doesnt matter, but one like for e.g. if i make a video of myself running, then upload it on my computer and use the video editor and put matrix effects on it or something like that.

I’ve listed some free video editing software below, but I really recommend you try Windows Movie Maker first.

Windows Movie Maker.
Windows MovieMaker 2 is a capable little editor and ships free with virtually all new XP computers these days package.

Virtual dub
A powerful freeware video editor with lots of features, including a choice of compression codecs, splitting, addition of audio tracks. Excellent.
